I don’t know how it works now, but there used to be one House play a year, so I was ‘girl for hire’ in those and then at the end of the first year it was the big school musical , Guys and Dolls. I auditioned and was given the role of Miss Adelaide and then in the Upper Sixth it was the Greek Play, which was a year of rehearsals.
