In first evening of the Greek Play saw over 350 guests attending the Greek Theatre to watch Oedipus The King including some of the cast from the 1979 and 1997 Greek Plays then called Oedipus Tyrannus. Hannah Lee (formerly Knapp I 96-98) shared a photo this week of the mask she wore when she opened the Greek Play in 1997 as part of the Chorus. Hannah said "the Chorus wore these masks with black cloaks covering our red costumes for the first scene of the play when we were playing plague-ridden citizens of Thebes begging Oedipus for help (if I remember correctly!). Still in pretty good condition after 26 years!!"
It has been so lovely hearing everyone's recollections of the play for the pieces we have posted on the College website and for the play programme and we look forward to hearing your feedback when we launch this year's Greek Play on Saturday.
