Horizons Jobs in the City Panel

Our Jobs in the City panel event was opened by Helen de Felice, who is the Programme Director of PwC’s Flying Start Programme at Henley Business School. Helen gave an excellent presentation about the merits of the programme (also offered by Queen Mary, Manchester, Nottingham and Newcastle University) but left pupils under no illusion that the course was tough, and hard work was required to be successful. She deems that one of the major advantages of the programme is the guarantee of a job with PWC if you graduate.

Helen’s presentation was followed by three professionals who have experience of the finance sector: Patrick Sinclair, a trained accountant who started his career at PWC and is now the Group Financial Director at the college, Henry Withinshaw, Chief Operating Officer of a Lloyd’s syndicate and a Director and Senior Counsel for an Investment Banker and Chris Williamson, General Counsel at Jura Global Management.

All spoke of the importance of being curious about your future, the value of work experience and if you go to university doing a degree that you are going to really enjoy. There is time to then gain your professional qualification be it accountancy or doing a law conversion course. It was an excellent evening, and we are very grateful to the four presenters for their time and excellent insights.

If you are interested in supporting an event such as this, please do complete the Be Involved with Horizons form, or email horizons@bradfieldcollege.org.uk and we look forward to talking through the options with you.
