News from the College |
In honour of its 175th anniversary, Bradfield was keen to recognise its longest-running Boys Hockey fixture this weekend. According to Bradfield’s archive the College first played Radley in 1934 and the match report reads as follows
‘On Wednesday, March 14th, the School played Radley on New Ground in a ceaseless torrent of rain. Considering the conditions, the standard of hockey was high. Bradfield were two goals up at half-time, through Ruperti and Murdoch, but early in the second half Radley scored through Birks, their captain. Bradfield, however, showed themselves to be the better side, and eventually won an interesting match by five goals to two'.
The matches this weekend were similarly competitive and played with good spirit. Afterwards, players and parents were treated to specially 175 branded cakes for match tea. Thank you to Radley for all the great matches!
