Are you a recent leaver? Would you be happy to share your experiences with current pupils?
On Friday 11 November the Horizons team will be running an event called 'Recent Leavers' Early Career Reflections'. The aim of the event is to provide current Upper Sixth pupils with an insight into life after Bradfield from the perspective of those who have recently made that very move. It is one of the highlights of the Horizons' calendar and they hope to recruit many alumni who are willing to share their story.
The below report covers the same gathering last year. If you are interested in joining the panel this year, or helping to provide careers guidance to current pupils more broadly, complete this brief form Happy to Help Horizons
OB Advice Panel 2021/22
We were joined by another excellent panel of recent OB’s – Beth Higginson who after achieving a History degree, followed by a Masters in TV Journalism spent time working for Disney, Amazon and Universal Studios and now works in film production. Ben Leppard who joined Schroders straight from college and is now a senior member of their Technology Change team. Amy Parker who is the Technical Administrator for English National Ballet, and is currently undertaking a part time MBA with the University of London. Jake Coventry who graduated this year from the University of Bristol with a BEng in Aerospace Engineering and has just started a graduate scheme as a Data Analytics Consultant within Risk Advisory at Deloitte. Greg Rishton who has successfully completed a sponsored degree in business with the University of Winchester continues to work at CGI now as a Project Manager. Will Stevens was lined up to do a degree in physics and astronomy at two top universities but decided to go straight into the world of work, taking an internship at a start-up called ValStream. Over the last 4 years he has worked his way into 4 promotions and currently runs a department with the role of Head of Technical Services. Jess Banfield returned to the panel again this year, she is currently working in banking (Lloyd’s Bank) on their finance graduate scheme, studying towards her ACA and working in commercial banking. The last panel member was Chris Bailey, whilst at university Chris worked as a runner and camera assistant, after graduating from the University of Westminster he enjoyed a number of opportunities before joining Sony Pictures Entertainment as VFX Assistant Co-Ordinator. He has just moved to MARV Studios as VFX Co-Ordinator. All the OB’s told their stories so well and the pupils engaged enthusiastically as they always do for this event.
