We are sorry of hear of the passing of Bradfieldian Guy van Koetsveld (D 77-82) on 2 December 2024. His brother Christopher van Koetsveld (D 81-86) was also at Bradfield in D House.

The news was shared by Richard Vary (E 86-91) who runs the Old Bradfieldian Shooting Society and who shared the following about Guy: 

Many of you will have known Guy van Koetsveld, either in person, or as the name on one of the Bradfield trophies. I am sorry to report that he passed away on 2 December 2024 after a year's battle with cancer.

Guy started shooting at Aldro Preparatory School, near Godalming, and then at Bradfield was in the winning team at the Ashburton Shield pictured in 1980 (Guy is 4th from the right), and afterwards at the University of Surrey. He had shot with OBSS since leaving, and was a regular participant in the Vets and other OBSS matches until he became ill. Aside from OBSS he was also a member of the London & Middlesex RA, holding the office of District Superintendent of the London District of the English Twenty Club for a number of years. He shot for Great Britain  in 1996, on the Team to the West Indies, and until recently was a regular competitor at Bisley in individual competitions.

Guy's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday 19 January 2025 at 15:00 at West Surrey Golf Club, Enton Green Godalming, Surrey GU8 5AF. If coming, please let Guy's widow Lisa know on 07850 394925 for catering purposes.
