Whilst at Bradfield he excelled at running (image above of him in a College team) and some of his records have yet to be broken today;
1968 Inter Boys (Shell & Fifth Form) 800metres 2:00.4
1969 Senior Boys (Sixth Form) 800m 1:58.1
1970 Senior Boys (Sixth Form) 400m 49.8
Checking with Matt Ruxton, Bradfield's Director of Sport, only one of these records has been matched by AB Ross in 1988 - the Inter boys 800 metres time and Matt added " Mr Shann was clearly a very impressive athlete!."
