Carols in London

New location described as "perfect"
St Matthew's Church, Bayswater
St Matthew's Church, Bayswater

This year Carols in London was hosted at a lovely new venue - St Matthew's Church in Bayswater. A wide spectrum of the Bradfield community attended the concert including Bradfieldians of all ages, current parents and their families and many College staff.

St Matthew's is a larger church than St James and will help us to build our numbers over the coming years.

Guests enjoyed a wonderful concert by the pupils and musicians of the College under the guidance of the Chaplain The Revd Dr Peter Hansell. Musical leadership came from the Director of Music Mr Matt Lowe, organists Mr David Quinn and Miss Margaret Edwards, the Chapel Choir were directed by Mrs Elisabeth Croft and Bradfield Brass were directed by Mr Tom Griffiths.

Thank you to Neil Thompson (H 75-80) who delivered the second reading 'Christmas' by John Betjeman.

Musical elements of most note included some beautiful solo pieces as part of The Three Kings and The First Nowell and a wonderful closing piece by the choir in German 'Stille Nacht'.

One of the carol services has been recorded and will be shared with the Bradfield community with our seasons greetings message to everyone in the coming days.
